The White Light Meditation or How To Clear

This ubiquitous meditation technique is very helpful as it can be done in two minutes and helps clear the accumulated stresses of the day. It is good for beginners as it helps quiet the mind and induces relaxation easily.

Steps for White Light Meditation:

  1. Sit comfortably with eyes closed and back reasonably straight. Sitting in a comfortable chair is permissible.
  2. Extend arms and hands out, palms up as if ready to receive energy or light. Observe breathing as it becomes deeper and more even.
  3. Imagine an amber (yellow orange) light coming down from the bottom of the spine to the ground. this literally acts as a ground for excess energy.
  4. Imagine, envision or pretend that a white light is coming down to the crown of the head and surrounding the body.
  5. Extend hands above head and slowly "push the white light down and along the front of the body. If hands stop or resistance is felt then there is a blockage of energy.
  6. Imagine the blockage is like an ice cube on a frying pan and melt it with the light. Proceed as before until all blockages are clear. Continue to observe breath and enjoy, combine with any other meditation.
